AMIS (Ascension in Mission)
AMIS (Ascension in Mission) has been an active Ascension organization for 64 years. Dedicated to serving through support and involvement in mission work, AMIS provides an opportunity to learn more about God’s work around the world and locally.
Members gather for fellowship and to discuss possible projects. Last year, AMIS provided $10,000 in mission support to ELCA Good Gifts & Ukraine, Pr. Hartmut Barsnick for his work in Tanzania, LIRS (Lutheran Immigration & Refugee Services), the Benedict Center, Hephatha Lutheran Church, and Lutheran Social Services.

Sunday School and Christian Education
Ascension Lutheran Church’s Sunday School is currently led by Ar Lee, Jan Fox, and Laura Ruiz. Sunday School is held weekly at 11:30 AM during the Worship Service in Hmong in the second floor of the South Wing.
Sunday school is available to all children from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Any questions about enrolling in Sunday School please contact Ar Lee at lisab070520@gmail.com.
Ascension Lutheran Church’s Continuing Christian Education is currently under the direction of Pr. Novelli-Angrisano and Laura Ruiz. Both First Communion classes and Confirmation classes are conducted in a combined effort with Sante Fe/Faith Lutheran Church. Any questions about joining these courses, please contact Pr. Music Ministry
Organ and Traditional Music Offerings
Worship in English typically features the musical offerings of Ascension’s boisterous organ, played by John Sebolt or the trio of Sterling Biggers, Elterine Jankowski-Biggers, and Bob Foley.
During certain seasons, Ascension also features the Ascension Senior Choir for services. The choir is currently under the direction of Roxanne Carloni. Please contact Roxanne at roxannecarloni44@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the Ascension Choir.
Ascension Hand Bell Choir
Ascension’s handbell choir is currently under the direction of Roxanne Carloni. The handbell choir plays periodically at the Worship Service in English. The handbell choir practices immediately after the Worship Service in English in the Chapel in the South Wing. Hmong Praise Band

Latino Praise Band
